On April 21, the Gerald P. Buccino ’63 Center for Leadership Development had the unique opportunity to visit VaynerMedia’s headquarters in New York City. One of the leadership program’s initiatives, Leadership 102, initiated the visit. This year, the team visited Verizon. The initiative is led by Jeffrey Joyce. James Orsini, Chief Operating Officer at VaynerMedia and current Seton Hall Board of Regent, made the opportunity possible. The day was put together through the work of the Leadership 102 team and VaynerMedia’s team.

Upon arriving at the headquarters at Hudson Yards, the afternoon began with a working lunch and welcome by James Orsini. Orsini shared some of his professional experiences with the team, as well as a few tips to succeeding in the workplace. Following that, the team had the amazing opportunity to meet Danielle Valenchis and Justin Novello, Manager of Culture and Communication and Talent Acquisition Manager, respectively.

Valenchis and Novello spoke about the factors that differentiate VaynerMedia from other competitors. They even showed one of their most popular advertisements for Budweiser that aired after the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. After they completed their presentation, the team had the chance to ask questions and learn more about their careers in marketing.

The team then met with other associates at VaynerMedia and asked them questions about current trends. They also learned about some of VaynerMedia’s career opportunities. VaynerMedia offers a plethora of opportunities in various fields such as information technology, marketing, sales, and more. Later in the day, the team took a tour of the new office. While on the tour, the team walked by Gary Vaynerchuk’s office, where he was speaking with someone. Vaynerchuk is one of world’s most popular entrepreneurs and the founder of VaynerMedia. As the tour continued, two students were able to speak with Vaynerchuk and take photos with him.

Overall, the day was an excellent opportunity for team members to learn more about VaynerMedia, their career opportunities, and gain exposure to the industry. Looking ahead, Leadership 102 is in the process of organizing their annual visit to WakeFern in the Fall semester.
